Although earlier than previous seasons, March 25, represents
the course “soft opening”. During the soft opening, course maintenance
activities are based on turf growth, weather conditions, and membership
play. Beginning March 25, and continuing throughout the month of April,
course conditioning will consist of green surfaces mowed two or three days per
week, bunkers cleaned and raked weekly, fairways and tees mowed two days per
week, and hole placements changed as needed.

Course supplies will be limited to rakes in the bunkers and tee markers placed on the tees. Other maintenance activities in April include sand injection
of the greens (April 11), aerification along with sand applications on tees and fairways,
over-seeding of rough areas, cartpath maintenance, minor drainage projects, and landscape bed improvements.

Sand Topdressing of Fairways |
In addition, Golf
Preservations, will install internal drainage in greens 9, 14, 15 and 18
beginning in early April. However, only one green will be out of play for
a day or two and restored to putting quality before beginning the next
green. If necessary, a temporary green may be required on occasion
throughout the process. Depending on weather and soil conditions, the
green drainage project will be completed in approximately 10 days.
