Spring has sprung as warm temperatures have awakened the somewhat dormant turf. An extended growing season this fall along with mild winter temperatures produced a limited dormancy of the turf.

Consequently, the melting snow revealed the lush healthy turf that required mowing much earlier than previous seasons However, melting snows along with moderating temperatures and precipitation produce saturated soils that require time to drain. Depending on upcoming weather conditions, pins will return to the greens on March 25, 2016.
Prior to mowing, clean up of sticks and debris begins days and often weeks ahead of time. Overcrowding along with certain species of indigenous trees produce
falling debris throughout the winter months. As a result of tree
removal efforts initiated years ago, play areas such as greens and tees require less clean up and are the first areas mowed each
spring.
