It's another end to another great season which means all the trees are going dormant and all the leaves are falling off the trees. We have about six thousand trees on the property (not including the woods), which means leaf removal takes a lot of time and man power. Everyday since the beginning of October, one of our top priority has been leaf removal. The leaf removal process is so time consuming, we have specific equipment used for leaf removal, including pull behind sweeper, giant vacuum, and multiple turbine blowers. Using the turbine blowers, we blow leaves into a large piles, we then use the giant vacuum (the red machine with a yellow hose) to suck up all the leaves into a hopper in the back of a truck. The hopper allows us to pick up large quantities of leaves to maximize efficiency.

Two Kinds of Our Leaf Blowers |
We see the leaves fall from the trees, but where do they all go? All of our leaves are composted at our waste management site, then the compost is hauled off to area farms, which are then tilled into their fields.
